Thanks so much.....
This is the comment we received from the Bride who booked a Wedding Creche at Stanton House Hotel Swindon for her wedding at the end of February.
"Thnks so much for the service you provided on our wedding day. Although I didn't get to see the creche I know the children were having a great time, as I came down the stairs just before the ceeremony i could hear laughter and happy children!! The wedding card they made for us was such a lovely touch as well! I spoke to my mum a couple of days ago and she said that the parents were all very happy that they could leave their children having fun with you and have a break themselves. I would thoroughly recommend other brides to have your creche" - Joanne Tudor.
Busy start to the Year....
We have been busy promoting our Wedding Creche service at Wedding Fair. In January we were at the Wiltshire Hotel, in February at the Maddison Hotel, in March at the Stanton House Hotel - where we also provided a creche during the wedding fair - and at the end of March at a new venue at Spittleborough Farm near junction 16 of the M4.
We generated quite a few enquiries and hope to be at more weddings during 2010 and 2011. By booking a creche at the wedding, the children can be having fun while the parents are relaxing and really enjoying the special day along with the Bride and Groom.
Praise indeed.......!
This is from a letter we received from a Wedding creche held at
Alexandra House Hotel, Wiltshire.
"I would like to thank you and your team for providing such an excellent creche service for our wedding on 23 May 2009.
From the moment I researched the web and forund your website, I was incredibly impressed with the ease of getting the information I needed and then booking what I required. As the numbers and ages of children were confirmed you provided exactly what I needed and I thought you were very flexible in all matters.
On the day things, as often happens, were a little delayed and the children did not leave lunch until nearly an hour later than planned. Your creche team were more than happy to extend by a further hour and continue to provided supervision for the children. The games and ideas to keep the children busy and amused were extremely popular with both the children and the parents. The age range of 3 to 11 did not prove at all difficult for your team to deal with. A couple of parents who had initially been less than keen on the idea of a creche for their older boys stated how great everything had been and how much their boys had enjoyed the whole day. The boys even thought it was the best wedding they had ever been to! A testament to your efforts.
The youngest child in the group, at only 3, who is normally very attached to his mother was joining in and having a fabulous time. He barely noticed his mum was elsewhere, a sure sign that your team pitched all the games and entertainment at the perfect level for all the children.
Knowing the children were happy and supervised allowed the bridal party and all the parents time to relax and enjoy themselves and made the day all the more special.
My thanks to all of you for providing such a superb service. I would thoroughly recommend anybody to use your creche service, whether it be for a wedding ar any other event.
Yours,
Elizabeth Usher "
Thank you Elizabeth for your lovely letter, all the carers who worked at the creche had a lovely time as well!!

Spring Wedding Creche May 09
We held a very enjoyable wedding creche at Alexander Park Conference Centre in May 2009. A beautiful day and lots of fun for 11 children aged 2 to 13. All the parents were grateful for the relaxing time they enjoyed after the meal, fully absorbed in the speeches, without any distractions. The carers and children played with lots of games and spent time in the gardens with the parachute and bean bags.

A Lovely time ..... at our recent Wedding Creche
We received the following words in a Thankyou card for a creche we organised at the Sudbury House Hotel in Faringdon.
"Thank you so much for providing creche facilities at our wedding on 15th November (2008). All the children had such a lovely time especially our son William" - Bride and Groom
Our partnership with Swindon Borough Council and the Family Learning Team
Swindon Borough Council's Adult Community & Family Learning division has worked, successfully, in partnership with Swindon Child Carers for over 5 years. Swindon Child Carers have provided good quality child care to support many adult community and family learning courses and events. They offer a very professional and robust quality service and have responded to the demands of providing almost 'instant child care on demand' within our communities, with good humour! One comment from a satisfied learner recently, who had not even left her children in the care of relatives, was "the free creche attached to the community course was a bonus and I soon grew to appreciate the brilliant staff from Swindon Child Carers for their amazing care of my small children".
best wishes

We have moved.......!!!

We were sorry to say goodbye to the University, in particular our lovely creche room, and send our thanks for their help and support over the past few years.
**** 20th Anniversary Celebrations ****
In 2008 we celebrated the 20th Anniversary of Swindon Child Carers - a milestone of which we are very proud. Our first event was a TEDDY BEARS' PICNIC held at the University of Bath, Oakfield Campus on SATURDAY 7TH JUNE.
All past and present creche users were welcome to come - and encouraged to bring along a Teddy! Which many children and adults did!!! We provided a FREE PICNIC LUNCH and lots of fun activities - all proceeds from the activities and competitions were for the GWH Mother & Baby Courtyard.
The event was covered by Swindon Advertiser and Swindon Web and photos will soon be available in our gallery - a work in progress! As it was a lovely day (after all the rain) we made use of the outside area for craft activities and giant jenga and the parachute. Inside there was an obstacle course for children and their teddies. Lots of competitions - colouring, guess the name of the teddy, the weight of the cake, the number of sweets in a jar etc and most of those that came along stayed to the end to hear if they had won......
It was a lovely day, successful and fun and it was heard that as everyone had had such a lovely time it would be good it it became an annual event---- watch this space!
REUNION
Over the last 20 years we have had many wonderful child carers pass through our doors and to celebrate this, and to bring everyone together again, we held a reunion for past and present carers at our new home, The Bentley Centre, on
FRIDAY 12TH SEPTEMBER
There was a vast selection of cheese and wine provided and we were thrilled to see so many familiar faces again.
There was a display of many older photographs taken at various venues throughout our 20 years of providing creches and many of our previous carers were able to relate information, even remebering childrens names - and these would be adults now! It would be interesting to hear from parents or children who have used our creches and what they are doing now - please email us with any stories..
The evening closed with a short speech from our chair person - Kate Barker who thanked everyone for coming and making it so successful. We all wondered where we would be in another 5, 10 or even 20 years.... we hope that Swindon Child Carers will continue to provide creches to all those who need one.
'Big thanks to Swindon Child Carers for making it easier'
As a stay at home mum of 7 children, doing a college course was a big deal for me, but the child care was an even bigger issue! The temptation of the creche was what had enticed me to do the course but in reality I wasn't sure that I could let other people look after my children - However my worries were totally unfounded - From the moment I entered the creche the environment was totally child focused -the staff warm, friendly and great with the children, there was lots of fun, laughter, music, toys, imaginative and creative play - and they adapted to suit all ages - To be honest after settling my own children in I didnt want to leave - it was such fun! - The creche definately left me feeling guilt free about having a few hours to myself - and as a result www.BizzyBz.com has been born! Big thanks to Swindon Child Carers for making it easier!
Successful Wedding Creche
We are very pleased to have received the following feedback on a recent wedding creche organised by ourselves and held at the De Vere Hotel in Swindon. It was a very successful event, children enjoyed having their own space in which to kick off their posh shoes and relax and have fun, and parents enjoyed a glass of Champagne in peace!
The Mother of the Bride made the following kind comments;
‘The day was fantastic, helped in the knowledge of the professional input into the younger members of the party. They certainly enjoyed the time and so did the parents. Thank you all for such a wonderful service and I look forward to contacting you again.’
'Keep up the good work ladies!'
I first used Swindon Child Carers at the University of Bath in Swindon back in 2006. I enrolled on a Women into Enterprise course learning valuable business skills. My youngest daughter Tegan was only two years old at the time and totally enjoyed her weekly visits to the crèche. This gave me the assurance I needed to be able to thoroughly immerse myself into the 10 month course work, in the knowledge that my child was only next door, well looked after and enjoying herself.
Since then I have used Swindon Child Carers on numerous occasions in their 'mobile crèches' whilst attending various courses including Family Literacy/Numeracy at Gorse Hill Infants School, Story Telling Workshop at Stratton Library to a one off seminar in Bath.
I have always found the service to be both professional and caring, whilst offering a stimulating enviroment for children to play, learn and have fun!
Keep up the good work ladies!
